Pharmacy College has fully functional and well equipped laboratories, which is helpful for students to acquire knowledge and skill to apply quality assurance principles, including legal and ethical aspects involving drugs, delivering a quality assured product as per the pharmacopoeia, WHO and ISO standards.
1. Pharmaceutics Lab
Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the practical aspects of manufacturing formulation, and evaluation of various pharmaceutical dosage forms. The subject also helps the students to acquire knowledge and skill to apply quality assurance principles, including legal and ethical aspects involving drugs, delivering a quality assured product as per the pharmacopoeia, WHO and ISO standards.
In this laboratory experiments and research work carried out on formulation of different dosage forms, technology-based experiments.
2. Pharmacognosy Lab
Pharmacognosy is a specific discipline that deals with the rapid developments in the knowledge and utilization of medicinal substances of biological origin (plant, microorganism, and animal products) used for human and veterinary purposes.
The laboratory has various instruments like Soxhlet apparatus, Digital Balance, Calorimeter, UV cabinet. This lab conducts isolation, separation, purification, identification, and evaluation of phytoconstituents from medicinal plants. The lab is also suitable for organoleptic evaluation of crude and natural drugs.
3. Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab
The department of pharmaceutical chemistry is the central important branches of the institute. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to undertake academics in Bachelor of Pharmacy course. The department has various equipment’s like Digital balance, Abbe Refractometer, Polarimeter, Water Distillation unit, Conductivity meter, Ph meter, Calorimeter.
This lab deals testing and identification of various chemicals and drugs; synthesis and purification of chemical compounds; identification of medicinally active compounds.
